Mental Health Awareness & De-Escalation Online Training
Course Description
This course is an invaluable asset for front-line responders and those dealing with the public and potential conflict situations. Designed by experts in de-escalation strategies, this is the same training provided to many police forces across Canada. Learners will:
- Be able to de-escalate conflicts and improve the quality of interactions
- Deal with challenging behaviour with confidence and professionalism
- Identify and respond those experiencing a mental health issue
- Prevent conflicts from escalating
- Engage in more positive interactions with the public
- 4 modules comprising different mental health scenarios
- Consultations with an international advisory board including police, researchers, mental health professionals, adult educators and individuals with lived experiences have aided in the development of scenarios and eLearning topics learners will view as relevant to their daily work.
- Immersive and Interactive eLearning with imbedded first person video
- Scenario based training with learner interaction through decision points
- Gamification experience including integration of a narrative context, feedback, and three-dimensional environments.
